Call to ACTION
Many of us here worked previously for large corporations and upon asking the staff and associates, we gleaned a common theme when people were involved in a marketing course for their companies. More often than not they were told to ask for the business.
What it really means is letting people/users, that visit your website/landing page/Amazon page or Goodreads, etc. that you want them to take some action. It is not always buying something, it can be signing up for something like a newsletter, engaging you to learn more, etc.
REALLY – use the code above and save $100
In any case, you need to:
- attract their attention with a well designed button or banner
- be clear about what you want them to do and what they will receive
- offer them some incentive to click, like a free gift or discount coupon
- make it imperative they take action now – limited time offer/availability of gift
Hubspot.com has a great article that provides 31 Call-to-Action Examples. Plus they have a free CTA Starter Guide with 50 templates available if you ‘take action’ to receive – by clicking and filling details, which gets you on their mailing list.0
